Tim Tebow Will Be A QB In New England
(6/10 11:19 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... The Patriots are signing Tebow just in time for Tuesday's mandatory minicamp. Signing Tebow doesn't mean that he's a lock to make the roster. Rapoport reported that Tebow is being brought in as a quarterback, and it's hard to imagine him passing Ryan Mallett on the depth chart. Third stringer Mike Kafka was released on Monday. Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal notes, Tebow, like a lot of No. 3 quarterbacks in the league, has to prove his worthiness in limited practice snaps. Unlike most No. 3 quarterbacks in the league, he could potentially help on special teams and the occasional trick play. CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman reports that Tebow will also get up to speed on TE assignments. Meanwhile, ESPN.com's Mike Reiss notes that HC Bill Belichick has great respect for Tebow's approach to the game and his team-first approach, and it makes sense to think he'd view that as a positive addition to the locker room -- despite the media circus that comes with him. In fact, Reiss suggests that Belichick might enjoy the challenge of extinguishing the media fire as much as he enjoys working with Tebow. ... Whatever the case, we'll be hearing more.
