Chris Johnson Wants 2,000 Yards; Insists He's Not Selfish
(6/12 7:43 PT)

The Facts:
Johnson believes he can run for 2,000 yards again. We've heard this before, of course. Johnson hasn't flirted with that number since his spectacular 2009 season, but that hasn't stopped the Tennessee Titans running back from predicting a restoration to accuracy for the CJ2K nickname. "Every year coming in I have a goal, but every time I say what my goal is, everybody thinks I am a selfish player and not a team player," Johnson said Tuesday. "Every year I want to rush for 2,000 yards, and I feel like if we are doing what is right and we are making plays on Sunday, if I get to that yardage I feel like we can be a playoff team and hopefully win the Super Bowl." Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As NFL.com's Dan Hanzus suggested, Johnson has at least some reason to be optimistic in 2013. The interior of Tennessee's offensive line received a much-needed makeover, while the addition of Shonn Greene should help allow the Titans to play to Johnson's strengths (assuming the former Jet doesn't cut too deeply into the workload). Hanzus went on to remind readers that Johnson broke off three touchdown runs of 80 yards or more last season, proof that he still has that extra gear that makes him special. He might not get the workload necessary to flirt with 2,000 yards again, but that's actually not a bad thing. Less could be more.
