The Facts:
On Thursday, Randle El had told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review he would test the free-agent market and Bears GM Jerry Angelo wasted no time in trying to make a quick strike for an important offensive threat. The two sides are discussing a deal of five or six years, believed to be valued in excess of $20 million.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Bears will have to wait until Randle El visits the Redskins, but his addition would address not only the receiver and returner needs of 2006 but also for the future. Muhsin Muhammad will be 33 on opening day and is signed through 2010. But he has had only one 1,000-yard season in the last five and Muhammad, Bernard Berrian, Mark Bradley and Airese Currie all had injuries last season.
