Adrian Peterson Planning To Crank Up The Training During His Off Time
(6/23 1:5 PT)

The Facts:
As usual, Peterson is headed back to Houston until training camp, but don't suggest he's going to be taking it easy. "Oh, no. I'm going to crank it up, actually," the NFL's reigning MVP said after the Vikings wrapped mini-camp on Thursday. "Really bust my tail and be ready for training camp." Reported by 1500ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Peterson completed the offseason on the field with his teammates, going through all drills a day after sitting out for scheduled rest. Asked if the rest is related to his recovery from Feb. 7 sports hernia surgery, Peterson pointed out he did just fine while barely practicing down the stretch last season. "Feeling good, feeling strong, feeling 100 percent," Peterson said. "Ready to roll when training camp comes around." HC Leslie Frazier confirmed the surgery isn't a concern. The Vikings just want to preserve a player who carried the ball 348 times for 2,097 yards last season, not including the playoff game. "We kind of know what he's capable of doing," Frazier said. "He knows the offense, so every now and then, we're going to pick our spots and say, 'Let the other guys handle it. ...'" That approach should sit well with fantasy owners who are much more interested in what Peterson does on Sundays than in anything he does in practice.
