ongoing story. ... In a surprising development, the New England Patriots just announced via Twitter that they have released Hernandez. They subsequently released the following statement: "A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The move comes less than two hours after Hernandez was arrested at his home in connection with the murder of Odin Lloyd, whose body was found near Hernandez’s home on June 17. Authorities will not make the charges against Hernandez public until he is arraigned sometime later today. Expectations are he'll be charged with obstruction of justice. Without reading too much into the fact that New England immediately announced his release, there's reason to wonder if they know more than we do. Whatever the case, the bottom line is this: Hernandez is currently in jail and unemployed. ... Stay tuned.
