There were some encouraging signs of progress earlier in the week, when the two parties reopened a line of communication. But nothing significant, apparently, was accomplished. Jimmy Sexton, Rivers' agent, said Saturday he last spoke with the team on Friday. It's possible the Chargers and Sexton will talk today.

From a Fantasy perspective, this one has drawn out too long already. At this point, there's no way Rivers comes in and supplants Drew Brees in time to be of value on draft day.
