MRI Confirms A.J. Green's Injury Isn't Serious
(7/26 11:20 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the previous item. ... On Thursday, HC Marvin Lewis seemed fairly unconcerned about the knee injury that Green suffered in practice. Green had an MRI on the knee and there wasn’t much change in the overall outlook when the team updated his status on Friday. Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Lewis called the injury a bruise and that Green would miss the next three days of practice to recover. Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Green said the injury was less severe than the hyperextended knee he suffered in a November 2011 game against the Steelers that wound up keeping him out for about 10 days. “A little off balance, just an awkward landing,” Green said of how the injury occured. “Good the injury happened now, get time to rest. ...” In the end it's hard to argue with PFT's Josh Alper, who summed up: "Green should and likely will take as much time as he needs to feel 100 percent because the Bengals offense won’t be going anywhere if he’s not threatening defenses on the outside."
