It remains understood that Pitta's 2013 season is lost, but the Ravens now wait for a specific time frame on his recovery. More tests are scheduled this week to determine damage to the surrounding area, according to Rapoport. ... Pitta was
injured during practice Saturday on a jump ball in the back of the end zone. Trainers tended to Pitta, who covered his face with a towel as he was carted off the field. Veteran free agent Visanthe Shiancoe was
added to the TE mix Sunday, but with as NFL.com's Dan Hanzus reiterated, with Pitta and Anquan Boldin out of the equation, Joe Flacco is without his two favorite red-zone options. Fortunately, the Ravens have a strong rushing attack with Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce perhaps in line for greater workloads given the diminishing receiving talent. It's certainly worth watching.
