Hakeem Nicks Bothered By Tightness In Groin
(7/28 11:42 PT)

The Facts:
Although he looked good early in Sunday's practice, Nicks later walked off to the side to have his legs looked at by trainers. He did not return to practice, missing most of the 11-on-11 team drills and the 7-on-7 reps. “I guess he got a little tightness in the groin and they held him,” HC Tom Coughlin said after practice. “I really don’t know much about it.”  Reported by New York Newsday

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Newsday staffer Tom Rock noted, there are good signs. It’s not Nicks' knee or his foot. Nicks never left the field even though he did not participate in the drills. ... Remember, the Giants are counting on Nicks to be a big part of their offense. Early in camp Eli Manning said his favorite all-time target told him that he was 100 percent healthy. “That’s what we’re expecting and that’s what we need him to be,” Manning said. He’s not anymore. But as Rock summed up, "so far this minor setback does not seem to be a threat to his full return this upcoming season. ..." We'll follow up as needed.
