GM: Seahawks Taking Wait And See Approach With Percy Harvin
(7/29 3:19 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... GM John Schneider made his first public comments on the Harvin situation today during an interview on The SiriusXM Blitz and reiterated what HC Pete Carroll said over the weekend — that just about any and every scenario remains on the table. Asked about the possible outcomes for Harvin’s hip injury, Schneider said “it’s really a huge, huge spectrum, quite honestly. It could be something where he is out practicing within the next weekish or it could be something like coach Carroll was talking about where they do advise surgery and then depending on how they evaluate the situation that determines how much time he would miss.”  Reported by the Seattle Times

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Harvin will have a second opinion on the injury Tuesday in New York and Schneider said the team won’t know anything more until then. Schneider said no matter the outcome “we are prepared either way.” Schneider said the team feels good about its receiver depth and specifically mentioned Jermaine Kearse, Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate are having great camps. ... For what it's worth, SI.com's Peter King reports the Seahawks think Harvin will escape a season-ending injury. King added, "Opening day is 41 days away, and aside from the fact that Russell Wilson and Harvin need to be building familiarity, there’s not a major issue with a guy who has a history of missing time (10 games in four seasons) getting as healthy as he can in the preseason and feeling confident in his body when September comes." As one Seattle source told King, “Percy’s a confidence player -- he needs to feel good about his condition and himself. This time should give him the best chance to feel right entering the season.” King’s money is on rest and treatment -- and Harvin being ready on opening day. We shall see.
