Denard Robinson Running Some Wildcat
(7/30 12:4 PT)

The Facts:
Don’t be surprised if the Wildcat is part of the Jaguars’ offense this season. The Jaguars used Robinson, who played quarterback at the University of Michigan, on three Wildcat plays in practice Monday. He ran once, handed off to Maurice Jones-Drew and threw a completion to Mike Brown, his first pass of camp.  Reported by the Florida Times-Union

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to Times-Union staffer Vito Stellino, the idea of having Jones-Drew in the backfield at the same time with Robinson would give the Jaguars a lot of options. HC Gus Bradley doesn’t mind the word getting out that the Jaguars have the Wildcat in their arsenal because it makes opposing teams to spend time preparing to defend it. "It does put a strain on a defense,’’ he said. Robinson struggled with the Wildcat in OTAs, but Bradley thinks he has the potential to run it. “We did it in OTAs and a couple of times he ran the ball and fumbled the ball and he didn’t know how to pitch,’’ Bradley said. “We’re not going to give up on that. [Offensive coordinator] Jedd’s (Fisch) philosophy is to get it in the playmaker’s hands and we want to see if he’s a playmaker and the threat he can give us.’’
