Following up on the
ongoing story. ... HC Pete Carroll confirmed Thursday that Harvin has undergone surgery on his injured hip. The Seattle Seahawks coach said the surgery "went very well," according to ESPN Radio's Liz Mathews, but added the team doesn't have a timetable yet. The coach said Harvin will remain in New York for "a few weeks."

Speaking on Harvin, Carroll said "we're hopeful he'll have a chance to get back. ..." NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the Seahawks were hopeful Harvin would be back in the lineup by Thanksgiving. That would create a best-case scenario of Harvin making his season debut in Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints. ... We shall see.
