A.J. Green Won't Play In Pre-Season Opener
(8/2 1:58 PT)

The Facts:
The Bengals are staying cautious with Green's knee. The team's star wide receiver is unlikely to travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons in the Bengals' first preseason game on Aug. 8. Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Green hasn't practiced since he banged up his knee in last Thursday's session. The Bengals are in no mood to rush him back. Remember; HC Marvin Lewis initially called Green's injury a "knee bruise," meaning the receiver would likely play if the game had any tangible meaning. Green should be fine for the Bengals' regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 1. The team also listed receiver Andrew Hawkins (ankle) as a no-travel candidate for the Falcons game and receiver Marvin Jones is dealing with an undisclosed injury that's kept him from practicing this week. The Bengals signed Jheranie Boyd on Thursday to add depth at wideout. ... As for Green, we'll be following up. But those drafting early shouldn't let this worry them.
