Packers Sign Vince Young
(8/5 4:59 PT)

The Facts:
According to Ed Werder of ESPN, the Packers were “impressed,” by Young’s workout and “will attempt to sign” him. Moments later, ESPN colleague Josina Anderson reported a one-year deal would be signed.  Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Werder also noted that the Packers’ first two games were against the 49ers and Redskins, implying that Young’s presence will make it easier somehow to prepare for those two. That jibes with previous reporting -- although without seeing Young play, it’s hard to know if he’s good enough to replicate Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III closely enough for them to benefit. In six NFL seasons with Tennessee and Philadelphia, Young has played in 60 career games with 50 starts and completed 755-of-1,304 passes (57.9 percent) for 8,964 yards in his career with 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions. The AFC offensive rookie of the year in 2006, Young also has 282 carries for 1,459 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and 12 touchdowns.
