The Bills have announced that Manuel "had some swelling in his left knee this morning and was examined by our medical staff. An MRI revealed that he will need to have a minor knee procedure and that has been scheduled. He will miss the remainder of the preseason and then be re-evaluated at that time." Reported by BuffaloBills.com

Manuel was clearly on track to emerge as the starting quarterback before this development. It remains to be seen how it will impact his ability to start Week 1 (or his availability for that game). In the meantime, Kevin Kolb will be the starting quarterback for this weekend’s game at Washington.
