The Facts:
The Dolphins and Brees are expected to resume negotiations Tuesday. Brees left Miami on Monday evening for Birmingham, Ala., where he's rehabbing his surgically-repaired right shoulder. Contract talks between Brees and the team did not take place because Brees spent the day undergoing a battery of doctors' tests, including an MRI on his shoulder and a full physical.

According to ESPN.com insider John Clayton, the hang-up between Brees and the Dolphins is how much of a contract will be guaranteed. The Saints are believed to be offering more money and more guarantees than the Dolphins, who are wary of guaranteeing $10 million of his contract after he came off shoulder surgery.
