Nate Burleson To Have Surgery On Broken Arm After Car Accident
(9/24 12:13 PT)

The Facts:
Burleson’s season is in jeopardy after he broke his arm in two places in a single-car accident. Burleson was driving a 2009 GMC Yukon SUV when he was distracted by pizza falling off his front seat, according to Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw. He lost control of the car and struck the center median wall. Reported by the Detroit Free Press

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Burleson, who leads the Lions with 19 catches through three games, is scheduled to undergo surgery later today. He was returning home from watching Monday Night Football with teammates at the time of the accident. Police say alcohol was not a factor. Meanwhile, Detroit has already talked with multiple teams about acquiring a receiver in a trade, according to Tim Twentyman of the Lions’ website. Cleveland WRs Josh Gordon and Greg Little as well as Tennessee's Kenny Britt could be available, although it's not clear if the Lions have the firepower or desire to reach as high as Gordon. Without Burleson, the Lions don’t have a lot of depth at wide receiver behind Calvin Johnson. Ryan Broyles is still working his way back from ACL surgery and Patrick Edwards is struggling with an ankle injury.
