A neck sprain Floyd suffered last month will end his 2013 season. The Chargers wide receiver was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. San Diego signed wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins in a corresponding move.

On Sept. 15, Floyd was injured early in the third quarter against the Eagles. Linebacker DeMeco Ryans separated Floyd from the football on a downfield pass, a blow that drew a $21,000 fine from the league. Ryans was charged for striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area with his shoulder. Floyd's agent Buddy Baker said the 10th-year veteran will be back in 2014.
