The Facts:
Following up on the
ongoing story. ... HC Tom Coughlin said Wilson, who experienced numbness around his neck area in Sunday’s 36-21 loss to the Eagles, has to undergo a battery of tests before he is cleared to play again. “(Wilson) has to have a full medical appraisal of exactly what happened,” Coughlin said today. “We’ll wait and see on that. He did suffer some type of tingling and he was immediately pulled out of the game.”

Needless to say, Wilson’s status for Thursday night’s game at Chicago is unclear and Coughlin didn’t rule out signing a running back. With the Giants facing a short week, a likely candidate to be signed is former Giant Da’Rel Scott, who was released last week. Veteran Brandon Jacobs replaced Wilson, who was injured in the first half, and finished the game. He had 11 carries for 37 yards. After the game, Wilson told The Star-Ledger he was numb briefly after a hit, but the numbness went away quicklly. The team, though, held him out. He finished with six carries for 16 yards, including a first-quarter five-yard touchdown run before his injury. Asked if rookie Michael Cox might be in the mix this week, Coughlin said, “We’ll see.”
