Kubiak Leaving Door Open To QB Change?
(10/7 5:1 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... HC Gary Kubiak indicated after the Texans' 34-3 loss to the 49ers on Sunday night that Matt Schaub would remain the team's starting quarterback. Given a night to think about it and watch the film, Kubiak was less definitive. Kubiak was asked Monday if Schaub remained the team's starter. "He is, but I'm evaluating everything to see what gives us best chance to win," Kubiak said. "I'm trying to help him (Schaub) push him through it so our team can push through it. We're all disappointed because we're having to overcome too much." Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Houston Chronicle staffer John McClain advised his Twitter followers, "After listening to Kubiak's news conference, it's clear that he's still considering a change at QB without saying so. ..." The Texans have lost three straight games, and Schaub was replaced in the fourth quarter against San Francisco by T.J. Yates. As NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal suggests, Kubiak knows that benching Schaub is a seismic change for the organization, and he's not rushing the decision. But it sure sounds like that move is on the table for this week.
