The Facts:
The Dolphins released Frerotte on Tuesday afternoon just hours after reaching tentative agreement on a trade for Minnesota's Daunte Culpepper. Frerotte and the Dolphins were unable to reach agreement on a restructured contract that would lower his 2005 salary cap number from $4.68 million.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Dolphins had to release Frerotte today to avoid paying him a $330,000 roster bonus. It's a move they might regret depending on the status of Culpepper's knee. Untested Cleo Lemon and Brock Berlin are the only other QBs currently on their roster and those who follow the team closely believe Frerotte could return with a lesser deal. Denver and St. Louis, however, might be interested in his services.
