The Facts:
The Jets made it clear they were interested in having Garrard around as a mentor, no matter how long it took. The team announced they had activated the veteran who was brought in two weeks ago on a roster exemption, and released Brady Quinn to make room for him on the 53-man roster.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Jets brought the 35-year-old Garrard in early this offseason, when Mark Sanchez was still a factor and before Geno Smith was drafted. But his traditionally bad knees forced a brief retirement, before he got some rest and decided to give it another shot. As PFT's Darin Gantt suggested, given his health in recent years (he hasn’t taken a snap since Dec. 26, 2010), it’s hard to imagine him as anything but a clipboard-holder, though he’s been a pro and should be a good influence on Smith.
