According to a source in Pittsburgh, the Patriots have interest in running back Verron Haynes, a backup with the Steelers for the last four years who would presumably fill the same role with the Patriots.

Haynes, an unrestricted free agent available to the highest bidder, has done a nice job as the Steelers' third-down back, but it's not clear how much they're willing to pay to keep him.
