Williams made five starts at wide receiver this season, managing just 12 catches for 113 yards. Williams struggled as a return man as well and was dead last in the league in punt return average. He was clearlyl vulnerable with Mario Manningham back in the lineup and Michael Crabtree on the way. The 25-year-old was in his fourth year with the 49ers out of Arizona State. As the RedZone.org notes, Williams was considered a fring-level talent even before tearing his ACL last Thanksgiving. He could find it difficult to find a spot on another NFL roster.
