In a column published this morning, Tom Kowalski advised readers that Harrington has grown disenchanted with his situation as the Lions quarterback -- in part because new OC Mike Martz is planning to "tear him down" and rebuild him all over again.

has asked the team to either trade him or release him -- and that the team will accommodate his request before a significant roster bonus comes due on June 15. ... All this is still falls under the realm of speculation, but -- given recent developments (including the signings of Jon Kitna and Shaun King) -- it starting to look like a case of where there's smoke there's fire.
