Keenum will continue to be the Texans’ starting quarterback, coach Gary Kubiak said Monday.

Kubiak acknowledged the Texans’ struggles under Keenum, who’s 0-5 as a starter. But Kubiak called Keenum “a confident kid” and said the Texans will continue to stand behind him this season. “It’s part of a growth process for him,” Kubiak said. “As coaches, you try to do everything you can to put him in a successful situation. He’s done a lot of good things, had some early success. The last couple of weeks have been a little tougher.” Keenum completed just 52.9 percent of his passes and recorded a 54.7 rating Sunday during a 13-6 home loss to Jacksonville. His passer rating has declined in four consecutive games and he continues to struggle in blitz situations. Expect more of the same going forward.
