McCown's agent said the Vikings expressed an interest in his client. McCown, who visited the Raiders on Wednesday, is seeking a starting job but would consider the Vikings because of Childress. "I know first-hand what a great communicator and a coach he is, especially with quarterbacks," said agent Mike McCartney, who worked with Childress as the Eagles' director of pro personnel from 1998 to 2000.

Other quarterbacks who could become available are Brian Griese and Patrick Ramsey, who the Redskins are trying to trade. Craig Nall, the Packers' No. 3 quarterback, visited with the Vikings on Monday. Nall's agent, Robb Nelson, called the Vikings situation "appealing, not pressing."
