Shorts’ season is over with two games remaining because of a groin injury. The team will place Shorts on injured reserve later today. Reported by the Florida Times-Union

Shorts and coach Gus Bradley strongly hinted on Monday that Shorts would be shut down. He finishes the season with 66 catches for 777 yards and three touchdowns. After practice last Friday, Shorts said an MRI revealed enough damage to require surgery once his season was over. Shorts’ 2012 season ended in the 15th game when he sustained his second concussion in less than a month. This year, Shorts missed a chunk of the preseason with a calf strain, injured his shoulder at Denver (although he didn’t miss a game) and was nursing the groin problem for the last month when he left the win over Houston on Dec. 5. ... Kerry Taylor started in Shorts' absence last week.
