According to Star Ledger staffer Conor Orr, Gilbride arrived at the decision following a miserable season in New York where the Giants offense finished No. 28 overall and Eli Manning tossed a career-high 27 interceptions. The Giants were one of two teams in the NFL to be shut out this season. While the announcement has not yet happened, there is a chance the team could move rather quickly with hiring Gilbride's replacement. Mike Sullivan, Manning's former quarterbacks coach during his best career season (2011) will likely become available in the coming days. Though he is currently under contract by the Buccaneers, the team is undergoing a massive staff overhaul, including the firing of head coach Greg Schiano, who brought Sullivan on. ... Stay tuned.
