Gilmore, he flew back to Chicago Thursday from Oakland, where he made a free-agent visit and received a contract offer from the Raiders. The Bears essentially matched it, giving him a two-year deal with a signing bonus of about $500,000. "This is where my heart was," Gilmore said. "I was doing the whole business part of it, but this is where I wanted to be all along."

Gilmore is the No. 2 tight end behind Desmond Clark, though the Bears also plan to draft one. He played in all 16 games last season, catching one pass -- a touchdown in the victory at Tampa Bay. He has made six starts in four seasons with the Bears. The Lions and Ravens had also expressed interest in him.
