Jake Locker Okay With Competing For Starting Job In Tennessee
(1/7 12:0 PT)

The Facts:
So long as he's in the mix to be the Titans' quarterback in 2014, Locker won't have any objection to life after Mike Munchak. Locker was asked during a radio interview how he would feel about competing for the starting quarterback job, now that Munchak has been fired. "I'm OK with that," Locker said. "As long as I get the opportunity to compete for it, I'll be thankful for it." Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky, Locker is doing upper-body work while rehabilitating from Lisfranc foot surgery to correct an injury that ended his season in Week 10. A first-round draft pick in 2011, Locker entered each of the past two seasons as Tennessee's starter but missed significant time due to injuries. He missed five games in 2012 because of a shoulder injury and appeared in just seven games this season due to leg and foot injuries. The 25-year-old Locker completed 60.7 percent of his passes this season for 1,256 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. The Titans went 4-3 in the seven games Locker started. Locker expressed gratitude for Munchak, the coach who was on board with drafting Locker eighth overall in 2011. Munchak was fired Saturday following a 7-9 season. "I was disappointed to see him go," Locker said. "He was somebody I respected as a person, as a coach."
