The Facts:
With Jay Gruden
leaving the Bengals for the Washington Redskins, it is expected that running backs coach Hue Jackson will become the Bengals’ new offensive coordinator.
Reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer
Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Enquirer staffer Joe Reey notes, Jackson has been the offensive coordinator in Washington (2003), Atlanta (2007) and Oakland (2010) as well as being the Raiders head coach in 2011. Before entering the NFL, he coached 14 years in the college ranks. He served as offensive coordinator at USC and Cal. Jackson was promoted to running backs coach with the added title of special assistant to head coach Marvin Lewis last February. “Hue brings a wealth of experience,” Lewis said at the time. “He’s been an offensive play-caller, an offensive coordinator, been the head coach. So he has the perspective that (offensive coordinator) Jay Gruden also has, and that’s helpful. ..." Seems likely it would be equally helpful going forward.
