The Facts:
Earlier this week, HC Mike McCoy said that Mathews would be on his usual practice schedule heading into Sunday’s date with the Broncos. As it turns out, though, Mathews isn’t on the same schedule. Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports that Mathews was held out of practice again on Friday.

In recent weeks, Mathews has rested his injured ankle early in the week and then practice on Friday before playing in that weekend’s game. San Diego will release its official injury report later on Friday, which will give some more insight into Mathews’ chances of playing against Denver in the Divisional Round. ... Stay tuned.
