Steve Smith Officially Questionable
(1/10 3:19 PT)

The Facts:
As noted in the previous item, Smith on Friday again was giving random "percentages" about the strength of his sprained left knee and the odds that he'll play Sunday against San Francisco. But the bottom line is this: The questions about Smith's effectiveness won't be answered until Sunday when he takes the field against the 49ers. Reported by the Charlotte Observer

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Smith jokingly said there's an 89 percent chance he'll play, a number he decided on because it also happens to be his jersey number. But when the crowd of reporters thinned out around his locker later Friday, Smith conceded his knee didn't feel particularly good Thursday. "I'm going to just play ball. That's all I'm going to do, is play ball," Smith said. "Like I said, yesterday I didn't do as well as I expected. And that's life. ..." While we expect Smith to play in this one, you'll want to check back in the hour leading up to Sunday's kickoff for his official game status. The same goes for Jonathan Stewart, who is also questionable coming off a sprained MCL. TE Ben Hartsock (knee) is probable.
