Given the uncertainty surrounding Chad Pennington, who underwent a second rotator cuff surgery five months ago, the Jets considered a variety of options at the position. ESPN.com insider Len Pasquarelli reports that as recently as this morning, the Jets were still in discussions about a trade that would have brought them Falcons backup Matt Schaub in exchange for DE John Abraham. The Jets and Falcons continue to explore other formulas for completing an Abraham trade.
