The Facts:
HC Mike McCoy, Philip Rivers and many other Chargers praised QBs coach Frank Reich for the tremendous job he has done all season. Because of that and more, Reich was promoted to offensive coordinator on Tuesday. “With Frank as offensive coordinator, we will be able to maintain continuity on offense and help maximize the production by Philip and the entire unit,” McCoy said. “He has a great feel for the offense we have created and he has been a valuable asset to Philip and all of the quarterbacks.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The position became available after Ken Whisenhunt
was hired as head coach of the Tennessee Titans on Monday. His work with Rivers has clearly been a plus. In his 10th year, the Chargers QB had arguably the most successful season of his career. He led the league with a 69.5-completion percentage, throwing for 4,478 yards (third-highest of his career) and 32 touchdowns (second-highest of his career) to just 11 interceptions. Rivers tied the team record for a passer rating (105.5), while setting a team mark for single-season completions (378). ... The continuity should help all involved.
