Mike Goodson Rejects Plea Deal
(1/17 12:26 PT)

The Facts:
Goodson maintained his plea of not guilty at an arraignment for his outstanding weapons charges Wednesday morning in Morristown, N.J., and also rejected a plea deal that would have landed him a one-year prison sentence. Reported by the New York Daily News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Goodson was indicted on a second-degree charge of unlawful possession of a handgun and a fourth-degree charge for possession of a hollow point bullet on Nov. 7. Before the indictment, Goodson had previously entered a not guilty plea. If convicted on the second-degree charge, Goodson faces a minimum of three years in prison and a maximum of 10 years. Goodson turned down a plea deal to serve one year in prison on the second-degree charge, according to his lawyer, Tony Fusco Jr. Fusco contends that the police search of the vehicle on the night of May 17 was illegal. Goodson also faces outstanding drug charges, which were not part of the hearing Wednesday. Goodson signed as a free agent with the Jets last offseason. He served a four-game suspension following the alleged incident, but tore his ACL and MCL in his second game back.
