Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Peterson, who missed two of the Vikings' last three games because of the groin as well as a foot injury, also had sports hernia surgery after last season. The groin was an issue since at least mid-November, most notably hobbling Peterson in a Nov. 17 loss at Seattle. He finished the season with 1,266 rushing yards in 14 games, one year after winning the MVP and rushing for 2,097. ... Previous reporting suggested one possibility for relieving groin pain is an adductor release, which is minimally invasive, cuts an irritated tendon and would require about two months of rehabilitation. Stay tuned. We'll be following up as needed.
