Williams is facing misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and trespassing, according to the Tampa Bay Times. He has a Feb. 24 court date stemming from a December incident.

"We have spoken with Mike Williams and the local authorities regarding the charges that have been filed against him," the Buccaneers said in a statement. "All of our players are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the high character and moral responsibility that we demand as representatives of the Buccaneers organization. ..." Signed to a six-year, $40 million contract extension in July, Williams hasn't been in trouble with the law since the 2010 season when he was arrested for driving under the influence. Williams faced character questions entering the NFL out of Syracuse due to quitting the team and academic issues. Now he has more questions to deal with. ... Stay tuned.
