According to Tribune staffer Roy Cummings, the incident in question occurred on Dec. 13. Bucs officials acknowledged the situation in a statement Saturday. “We have spoken with Mike and the local authorities about the charges that have been filed,” Bucs spokesman Nelson Luis said. “All of our players are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the high character and moral responsibility that we demand as representatives of the Buccaneers organization.” Williams, a fourth-round pick of the Bucs in 2010, is coming off a season cut short after six games by the hamstring injury. He had 22 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns in 2013. After averaging 64 catches each of his first three years with the Bucs, Williams signed a six-year, $40 million contract on the first official day of training camp last year.
