According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have informed Burleson that he’s being released today.  Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The move clears $5.5 million worth of salary cap space. As PFT's Darin Gannt notes, the 32-year-old wideout was a consistent performer for the Lions when well, but missed 17 games the last two seasons because of injuries. Still, he seems likely to find a new home if his demands aren't too great.
