David Wilson's Rehab Going Well; Early Outlook Optimistic
(2/17 9:50 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... A source close to the situation told me this week that Wilson is recovering very well from his neck surgery, lifting weights and working out and that there's "no reason to believe he won't be playing" in 2014.  Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As ESPN.com's Dan Graziano suggests, that's good news, but fantasy owners shouldn't get too excited until we see further evidence that he is indeed ready to return. As Giants owner John Mara put it early in January (before the surgery), “We’re hopeful that David will be able to play for us again next year. Time will tell on that one. ..." Wilson’s 2013 season came to an early end because of a neck injury that doctors told him carried an increased risk of further problems if he continues his playing career. Wilson said during the season that he intends to keep playing, but much will depend on continued progress in rehab. We'll continue following up as needed.
