The Facts:
It can be hard to tell sometimes exactly what Mendenhall means. But in a surreal -- or trippy, or just weird -- blog item
he wrote for the Huffington Post, Mendenhall has created the impression that he might be retiring. Maybe. In his blog, Mendenhall writes about a “vision” he had two years ago, the day after he blew out his knee. He wrote about swimming in a dark sea, toward a vision of the Blessed Mother. “And as I write this, today is the day that the journey is over and I am fully at peace,” he wrote. “Eagerly looking to a new way, which lies ahead.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As noted by Darren Urban of the team’s official website, it’s not exactly the kind of thing you expect to hear from a soon-to-be free agent, at least not one who is 26 years old. That said, Mendenhall is coming off a season in which he gained 687 yards on 217 carries, a sub-par 3.2 yards a carry. Some fantasy owners would suggest he's checked out for the most part already. But the former Steeler scored eight touchdowns while fighting through various injuries and he had a big backer in HC Bruce Arians. ... Stay tuned. We haven't heard the last of this one.
