The Facts:
Looking to create more salary cap room, the Ravens have cut two of their veteran leaders, letting go of Leach and weak-side linebacker Jameel McClain. The moves aren't official yet, but the team has informed both players of their pending release. "I understand it," Leach said. "It is what it is. It's a business. I had a good three years with the Ravens."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Neither move is a big surprise as Leach and McClain both had diminished roles last season. In cutting Leach, the Ravens open up $1.75 million of cap space. The McClain move saves them $3.2 million under the cap. The Ravens are opening up cap room to put them in better position to re-sign several of their own free agents, a group that includes tight end Dennis Pitta, left tackle Eugene Monroe and wide receiver Jacoby Jones. Leach, 32, played the last three seasons with the Ravens, making the Pro Bowl twice as the lead blocker for Ray Rice. However, Leach was on the field less and less last year as the Ravens went away from two-back sets. He averaged less than 10 offensive snaps per game over the final five weeks of the regular season.
