According to a source, the Colts and Bradshaw have had recent conversations. Another source confirmed the club has not closed the door on a return by the 27-year old two-time 1,000-yard rusher.

It's too early to say whether this will amount to anything, but the situation bears watching. As Star staffer Stephen Holder notes, the prevailing notion has been that his injury history and the Colts' firm commitment to Trent Richardson seemed to make Bradshaw's return unlikely. But Holder points out the Colts' best rushing game of 2013 came in the only game in which Richardson and Bradshaw played together. On September 22, at San Francisco, Indy rushed for 184 yards in a stunning 27-7 blowout out of the 49ers. With Vick Ballard returning from a knee injury, there's no pressure on the Colts to retain Bradshaw. But he is the kind of veteran presence that appeals to HC Chuck Pagano.
