The Facts:
Besides the Bears, Tampa Bay, Miami and Cincinnati are attempting to secure Griese as an alternative to their starters. The Bears, Dolphins and Bengals, whom Griese visited Saturday, were in contact with agent Ralph Cindrich and directly with Griese on Monday.

Chicago OC Ron Turner met with Griese on Monday in Tampa to discuss his offense in depth and the Bears seem to be pushing hard. Team officials were satisfied enough with results of a medical evaluation performed on the QB's left knee to initiate contract discussions. Griese tore ligaments last October, but he's expected to be fully ready for mini-camps and training camp. ... Stay tuned. More as developments warrant.
