Thomas was rumored to be on the trading block Thursday as the Saints try to clear salary cap room ahead of free agency, which begins March 11. "Can't confirm or deny whether the Saints are shopping PT. I do know that PT's heart is in New Orleans !" Smith tweeted after reports surfaced Thursday. In other words, Thomas' position is still in question after the
Saints officially released Lance Moore and
will release Darren Sproles, who tweeted his goodbyes on Friday night. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, who said Friday that Thomas' status could be in danger, wrote Saturday that nothing has happened yet. Stay tuned. If the Saints part ways with Thomas, he would be the latest in a series of roster purging moves that included releasing Moore and Sproles. For the record, the Saints have not yet confirmed any moves with Thomas or Sproles.
