Not So Fast; DeSean Jackson Has Not Heard From Kelly
(3/19 4:19 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Daily News staffer Les Bowen has now heard from a more "official" Jackson source. Source says contrary to what Bowen was told earlier, and what Ike Reese reported on 94WIP, DeSean HAS NOT talked to Chip Kelly about trade speculation. The source says DeSean has tried to, but Kelly has been too busy with free agency, etc. Reported by the Philadelphia Daily News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
There you have it. While it's not unusual to have every report that's released this time of year met with an equal and opposite report, that second report usually comes from a competing media outlet as opposed to the same guy who reported the original. That it happened in this case should tell you something: Nobody knows what the heck is going on. And fantasy football owners trying to get a jump on the story should enjoy the back and forth while taking a wait-and-see approach. As we've mentioned more than once, there's plenty of smoke surrounding this story; what we haven't seen is any fire. Or anything that would put out a fire. In fact, all the reporting on this story has been speculative, citing unnamed sources. As Bowen explained: "One problem is that neither the Eagles nor Jackson is willing to talk about this, so we go to other sources, who might or might not know what they're talking about." So we'll go ahead and remind you to keep that sentence in mind as we continue to report on this story (and we undoubtedly will). The good news? Eagles officials, including Kelly, are obligated to speak to reporters next week at the NFL Meetings in Orlando.
