Mike Williams Apparently Not Forthcoming In Investigation Of His Stabbing
(3/24 1:49 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is treating the stabbing of Williams as a domestic dispute that ended in violence, not "horseplay," as originally suspected. Sworn statements from witnesses and evidence collected by investigators contradict the story that Williams told police about how he was stabbed in the thigh by his brother at his home in Avila on Sunday night, a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said Monday afternoon. Reported by the Tampa Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Williams, 26, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and treated and released for his injury Sunday, and an arrest warrant was issued for his brother, 23-year-old Eric Baylor, on a felony count of aggravated battery/domestic violence. Police aren't saying yet what Williams' account of the injury was, but FOXsports.com reported Monday that Williams told police he was "stabbed accidentally ... during a wrestling match." In other words, Williams tried to cover for his brother. ... Bucs GM Jason Licht said Monday that 18 hours after the incident, the team has yet to hear from Williams, despite reaching out to him with their primary concern being to verify his safety. Licht said he is still collecting facts and does not want to comment until he knows more as to what exactly happened. One certainty: The Bucs were already concerned about Williams. Indeed, before Sunday's stabbing, Williams' future with the Bucs was in question, eight months after he signed a six-year, $40 million extension.
