The Facts:
HC Gus Bradley went into some detail Tuesday about how much work Gerhart could receive in 2014. “He has the ability to play all three downs,” Bradley said Tuesday. “How many carries he gets — we would like to run the ball over 40 percent of the time. There might be 28-30 carries in a game and there aren’t more running backs that carry more than 20 times a game. “If he’s a guy that is carrying it 15-16 times and with third-down reps, 18 times. That’s feasible. A strong possibility.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
So, a day after making it clear that Gerhart
would be his "bell cow" back -- and two weeks after saying exactly the same thing he said today, that
Gerhart would touch the ball 15-20 times a game, Bradley said it again. Those of you wondering why this is news ("this" being the fact that Bradley said the same thing for the third time), it's not. It's just that Bradley is at the NFL owners meetings. He's obligated to talk to the media -- as every NFL coach and general manager is. And in today's world, opening one's mouth qualifies as news. So this is today's confirmation of what was said on March 14 and what was said yesterday. And what he'll likely say again and again in advance of the season. For fantasy football owners, it's comforting to hear. But we'll remind you of the words of Mike Tyson: "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face." Whether the Jags' plan for Gerhart works out or not in the end, there's certainly no doubt what it is.
